Public Bus
From downtown Reno, locate the RTC (Reno Transit) bus stop at 4th St & Virginia St. Board the Route 19 bus, which heads towards Kings Beach. Stay on the bus for approximately 1 hour. The bus will take you along the scenic Lake Tahoe route. Be sure to alert the driver to stop at the Kings Beach stop. Once you disembark, follow the signs to the beach area, which is a short walk from the bus stop.
Bicycle Rental
If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from a local rental shop in Reno. Start at the Reno Riverwalk, heading northwest towards Lake Tahoe. Follow the bike path along the Truckee River until you connect with the North Lake Tahoe bike trails. The ride may take about 2 to 2.5 hours, so plan accordingly. As you get closer, follow the signs that lead to Kings Beach. Once you arrive, park your bike in the designated bike racks near the beach.
Walking Tour
For those adventurous enough, start at the Reno Arch on Virginia St. Walk north towards Lake Street, then continue onto North Lake Blvd. It's a long trek, approximately 30 miles, so be prepared with water and snacks. You will follow the scenic path along the lake, enjoying beautiful views. This journey may take 6-8 hours depending on your pace, so start early in the day. Once you reach Kings Beach, enjoy the beautiful shoreline and take a break.
