Public Bus
Start at the Reno Transportation Center located at 280 N Center St, Reno, NV. From here, take RTC bus route 19 (South Virginia) towards the South Virginia & Mt. Rose stop. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at South Virginia & Mt. Rose, get off and transfer to the RTC bus route 20 (Mt. Rose) towards Galena Forest. This route will take you close to the Galena Forest area. Get off at the stop nearest to Galena Forest, which is a short walk from 250 Douglas Fir Cir.

Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Reno. Begin your ride from downtown Reno and head south on S Virginia St. Continue on S Virginia St for about 5 miles until you reach the intersection with Mt. Rose Hwy (NV-431). Turn left onto Mt. Rose Hwy, and continue for another 3 miles. Look for signs directing you to Galena Forest. The entrance is just off the highway, and you can lock your bike at the entrance before exploring the area.

If you are feeling adventurous and up for a long walk, start at the Reno Arch located on Virginia St. Head south on Virginia St until you reach S Virginia St. Continue straight for about 4 miles until you reach Mt. Rose Hwy. Cross carefully to the other side and continue on the sidewalk. After about 1.5 miles, you will find the entrance to Galena Forest at 250 Douglas Fir Cir. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water, as this is quite a lengthy walk.
