From Walker Lake, head south on NV-95 S towards Yerington. Continue on NV-95 S for about 20 miles. Take the exit for NV-208 W towards Yerington. After about 5 miles, turn right onto E Walker Rd. Continue for about 1 mile, and you will find the entrance to Walker River State Recreation Area on your left. Make sure to have a map or GPS handy, as cell service can be spotty in the area.

There are no direct public transportation options from Walker Lake to Walker River State Recreation Area. However, you can take a local bus service from Walker Lake to Yerington, which runs a few times a week.
