Car
To reach Grande Terre from Canala by car, start by heading southeast on Route de Canala. Continue for about 15 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Route de la Côte Est (N2). Turn left onto N2 and follow it for approximately 30 kilometers. You will pass through beautiful landscapes and coastal areas. Once you reach the town of La Foa, continue straight on N2 for another 20 kilometers until you reach the ferry terminal. Here, you can take a ferry that will transport you to Grande Terre. The ferry ride takes around 30 minutes and typically costs around 1,500 XPF per person.

Public Transportation
If you prefer to use public transportation, start by taking a local bus from Canala to Nouméa. Buses operate regularly and the journey takes approximately 2.5 hours. Once in Nouméa, you will need to catch a bus to La Foa (approximately 1 hour). From La Foa, you can walk to the ferry terminal to board the ferry to Grande Terre. The total cost for public transportation may vary, but expect to pay around 2,000 XPF for the bus fare from Canala to Nouméa and another 1,000 XPF for the bus from Nouméa to La Foa. The ferry fare is an additional 1,500 XPF.
