From Canala, head south on Route de Canala (D1) towards Poindimie. Continue on this road for approximately 30 km until you reach Poindimie. As you approach Poindimie, look for signs directing you to Îlot Tibarama. You may need to park your car near the beach access point in Poindimie, as the island is not accessible by car.
Public Transportation
Take a bus from Canala to Poindimie. You can catch the bus from the main bus stop in Canala. The journey will take about 45 minutes to an hour depending on the schedule. Once you arrive in Poindimie, you will need to walk to the nearest beach access point to Îlot Tibarama. Be sure to check the bus schedule for return times, as they may not run frequently.
Boat Transfer
After reaching the beach access point in Poindimie, you will need to arrange for a boat transfer to Îlot Tibarama, as it is an island. There are local operators who provide boat services to the island. It's advisable to confirm the boat schedule in advance and be aware that there may be a cost associated with the transfer, typically around 1,500 to 3,000 XPF (New Caledonian Francs) per person for a round trip.
