Car
Starting from Poum, take the Route de Poum heading southeast. Continue on this road for approximately 30 kilometers. You'll pass through beautiful landscapes and may see local wildlife along the way. After about 30 minutes, you'll reach the junction where you can access the main road leading towards Grande Terre. Follow the signs for Grande Terre, which is well-marked. Keep an eye out for the scenic viewpoints along the route, as they offer great opportunities for photos.
Public Transportation
From Poum, you can take a local bus heading towards Koumac. The bus leaves from the central bus station in Poum. Make sure to check the schedule in advance, as buses may not run frequently. After about 1 hour, you will reach Koumac. From Koumac, you will need to transfer to a second bus that goes directly to Grande Terre. Confirm the bus times with the driver or at the bus station to ensure a smooth connection.
Taxi
For a more direct route, consider taking a taxi from Poum to Grande Terre. You can find taxis in central Poum or call one from your accommodation. The taxi ride will take approximately 30 minutes, depending on traffic conditions. Make sure to agree on a fare before starting your journey, as taxi fares can vary.
