From Poum, start by heading south on Route de la Côte Ouest (D12). Continue along this scenic route for about 160 kilometers until you reach the town of Koumac. In Koumac, take a right onto Route de Koumac (D4) and continue south for approximately 70 kilometers until you reach the town of Hienghène. From Hienghène, follow the signs to Nouméa by taking Route de la Côte Est (D1). After about 260 kilometers, you will arrive in Nouméa. Once in Nouméa, head towards the Anse Vata Beach area, where you can find parking. The Iles des Canards is accessible by boat from Anse Vata Beach.

If you prefer public transport, first take a local bus from Poum to Koumac. The bus schedule may vary, so it's best to check in advance. Once in Koumac, take another bus heading south to Hienghène, and then catch a bus to Nouméa. The journey could take several hours, so plan accordingly. Be prepared for additional costs for bus fares and the boat ride.
