Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, start by getting onto NH-10 N from anywhere in the Dartmouth-Lake Sunapee Region. Follow NH-10 N for approximately 12 miles until you reach the junction with NH-103. Merge onto NH-103 E towards Sunapee. Continue on NH-103 E for about 4 miles until you reach the center of Sunapee. Once in Sunapee, follow signs for Lake Sunapee and keep going until you see the signs for Burkehaven Lighthouse. The lighthouse is located on Burkehaven Hill Road, which leads to the waterfront area. There is no dedicated parking for the lighthouse, so you may need to find a nearby spot to park and walk to the lighthouse area.

  If you are using public transportation, take the Upper Valley Public Transit (UVPT) bus from Hanover or Lebanon to New London. From New London, you will need to take a taxi or rideshare service to reach Sunapee, as public transit options are limited. Once in Sunapee, you can ask the driver to drop you off near Burkehaven Lighthouse or use a mapping app to guide you to the lighthouse. Keep in mind that taxi fares can vary; expect to pay around $20-$30 for the ride from New London to Sunapee.

The bike ride is approximately 4 miles from New London to Sunapee. The roads are generally safe for biking, but be cautious of traffic. Once you arrive in Sunapee, follow the aforementioned directions to reach the lighthouse. Ensure you have a bike lock to secure your bike while you explore the area.
