If you are traveling by car, start from downtown Portsmouth, NH. Head southwest on US-1 Bypass toward I-95 S. Merge onto I-95 S and continue for about 32 miles. Take exit 7 for NH-101 W toward Manchester. After about 20 miles, merge onto I-89 N toward Concord. Continue for approximately 25 miles, then take exit 12 for NH-11 toward Sunapee/Lake Sunapee. Follow NH-11 for about 12 miles until you reach Lake Ave in Sunapee. Continue on Lake Ave until you arrive at the parking area near the Loon Island Lighthouse. Note that there may be a small parking fee, typically around $5.
