Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, the Pemigewasset Overlook is easily accessible along Kancamagus Highway (NH-112). Start from any location in White Mountains National Forest, and navigate to NH-112. Once you are on Kancamagus Highway, drive approximately 24 miles east from Lincoln, NH or 10 miles west from Conway, NH. Look for the Pemigewasset Overlook parking area on your right. The overlook is well-marked, and there is a designated parking area available.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, you will first need to reach either Lincoln or Conway, as these are the nearest towns with services. From Lincoln, you can take the local bus service that operates in the area. The bus will drop you off at designated stops along Kancamagus Highway. Please check the current bus schedule for availability, as services may be limited. Once you are dropped off at a nearby stop, you may need to walk approximately 0.5 miles to reach the Pemigewasset Overlook, as there may not be a direct stop at the overlook itself.

• Biking or Walking

  For those looking for a more adventurous route, biking or walking along Kancamagus Highway is also an option. If you are staying in the area, you can rent a bike from local rental shops in Lincoln or Conway. Be prepared for uneven terrain and varying weather conditions. Plan your route to either start from the nearest town or another scenic point along the highway, and make your way towards the Pemigewasset Overlook. The distance from either Lincoln or Conway is about 10-24 miles depending on your starting point, so it is advisable to have a map or GPS device.
