Getting There

Walking
If you're starting from the Cape May City Center, head east on Lafayette Street until you reach Beach Avenue. Turn right onto Beach Avenue and continue walking south along the beach. You'll pass several hotels and beach access points. Keep walking until you reach the southern tip of the island. Sunset Beach is located at 502 Sunset Blvd, which is a left turn off Beach Avenue. Follow Sunset Blvd until you see the beach access and the gift shop. The total distance is approximately 1.5 miles and takes about 30 minutes on foot.

Biking
If you prefer biking, you can rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in Cape May. Start from the City Center and head east on Lafayette Street. When you reach Beach Avenue, turn right and ride south along the coast. Continue until you reach the end of Beach Avenue where it intersects with Sunset Blvd. Turn left onto Sunset Blvd and ride until you arrive at Sunset Beach. The ride is about 1.5 miles and should take around 10 minutes, depending on your speed.

You can take the Cape May Trolley, which operates in the summer months. Board the trolley at any of its designated stops in Cape May. Make sure to get off at the Sunset Beach stop, which is the last stop on the route. The trolley ride will take approximately 15 minutes. Once you disembark, you will be right at Sunset Beach, which features beautiful views and a gift shop. Be sure to check the trolley schedule for the latest times.
