Bus
From Paterson, walk to the nearest bus stop on Broadway. Take NJ Transit Bus #76 towards New York City. The bus will take you directly to Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan. Once you arrive, exit the bus and walk to 42nd Street. From there, you can catch the MTA Subway, take the 4, 5, 6, or 7 train to Grand Central Station. After exiting the subway, transfer to the M15 bus or walk toward the East River. Follow signs for East River Promenade, which is located near the East River Park.

Train
Head to the nearest NJ Transit train station in Paterson. Take a train towards Hoboken Terminal. Once you arrive at Hoboken, transfer to the PATH train and take it towards 33rd Street. Get off at the 33rd Street station, then walk to Herald Square and catch the MTA Subway. Take the 6 train downtown to the East 14th Street station. From there, walk east towards the East River until you reach the East River Promenade.

Walking
If you prefer to walk, start from the Paterson City Hall located at 155 Market St. Head south on Market St towards Main St. Turn left onto Main St and continue until you reach the Passaic River. Cross the bridge towards Cliff Street and follow Cliff St until you reach the train station. From there, you can take a train to New York City, or continue walking south towards the East River Promenade, which will take approximately 4-5 hours.
