Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start on the nearest main road in Hackensack Meadowlands. Use GPS or a map application and enter the destination as 'Hackensack Meadowlands Conservation and Wildlife Area, Carlstadt, NJ 07072'. The area is located close to Route 17. Take Route 17 South, and then take the exit for Carlstadt. Follow the signs for the conservation area, which will lead you to the parking lot. Note that there may be parking fees, so have some cash or a credit card ready.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, take a NJ Transit train or bus to the nearest stop to Carlstadt. The 160 bus from the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan goes to Carlstadt. Once you arrive at the bus stop, it's a short walk to the Hackensack Meadowlands Conservation and Wildlife Area. Be prepared to walk approximately 15-20 minutes from the bus stop to the entrance of the conservation area.
