The Back Room: A Hidden Gem in Manhattan

Getting There

• PATH TRAIN

  From Jersey City, head to the Exchange Place PATH station. Take the train towards World Trade Center. Get off at the World Trade Center station. Once you exit, walk towards the Oculus and follow signs for the subway to the R/W train. Take the R/W train towards 95th St. and get off at the Canal St. station. Exit the station and walk east on Canal St. towards Bowery. Turn left on Bowery, then left on Norfolk St. The Back Room will be on your right at 102 Norfolk St.

• BUS

  Find a NJ Transit bus stop near your location in Jersey City. Take the NJ Transit bus to New York, specifically the 126, 87 or 119 routes that go towards the George Washington Bridge or the Port Authority Bus Terminal. Once you arrive at the Port Authority, walk towards 8th Ave and take the A, C, or E subway lines to Canal St. From Canal St., walk east towards Bowery, turn left onto Bowery, and then left onto Norfolk St. The Back Room will be at 102 Norfolk St.

• FERRY

  Head to the Paulus Hook Ferry Terminal in Jersey City. Take the NY Waterway ferry towards Wall St. Once you arrive at Wall St., walk north on Wall St. toward Broad St. and catch the 2 or 4 subway lines towards Brooklyn. Transfer at Fulton St. to the R/W line and get off at Canal St. From there, walk east towards Bowery, turn left onto Bowery, and then left onto Norfolk St. The Back Room will be at 102 Norfolk St.

• WALKING

  If you're up for a walk, head towards the PATH station at Exchange Place. From there, take the PATH train to World Trade Center. Once you arrive, walk east towards the Oculus and follow the signs to the subway. Get the R/W train towards 95th St. and get off at Canal St. Once you exit, walk east on Canal St., turn left on Bowery, and then left on Norfolk St. The Back Room will be on your right at 102 Norfolk St.
