Walking
Start at Journal Square PATH Station. Exit the station and head northwest on John F. Kennedy Blvd. Continue for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Bergen Ave. Turn right onto Bergen Ave and walk for about 0.3 miles. You will reach a bus stop for the NJ Transit Bus #119. Take the bus towards 'North Bergen' and ride for about 10 minutes. Get off at the stop for 'Mountain Rd'. From the bus stop, walk up Mountain Rd, and you will arrive at the entrance to the 100 Steps, which is a well-known local hiking area.

Walking
If you are near the Hoboken PATH Station, exit and walk north on Washington St. Continue until you reach 14th St, then turn left. Walk to Willow Ave and turn right. Walk until you reach the NJ Transit Bus stop for the #126 Bus. Board the bus towards 'Jersey City' and ride for about 15 minutes. Get off at the stop for 'Mountain Rd'. Walk up Mountain Rd, and you will find the 100 Steps at the top.

Starting from the Newport PATH Station, take the PATH train towards Journal Square. Get off at Journal Square and follow the earlier described route from there. This will take you through Bergen Ave and onto the bus to Mountain Rd.
