Getting There

• Car

  From any location in Jersey Shore, head towards Atlantic City. If you're coming from the north (e.g., Long Beach Island), take Route 72 west to Route 9 south. Merge onto the Garden State Parkway south and follow signs for Atlantic City. If you're coming from the south (e.g., Cape May), take the Garden State Parkway north to Atlantic City. Once in Atlantic City, take exit 2 for Atlantic Ave. Turn left onto Atlantic Ave, then right onto S Rhode Island Ave. The Absecon Lighthouse will be on your right at 31 S Rhode Island Ave, Atlantic City, NJ 08401. There is typically street parking available nearby. Note that there may be meter fees depending on the time of day.

• Public Transportation

  If you're using public transportation, NJ Transit offers bus service from various locations in Jersey Shore to Atlantic City. You can catch the bus at major stops such as in Point Pleasant Beach or Seaside Heights. Check the NJ Transit website for the latest schedules. Once you arrive in Atlantic City, walk to the Atlantic City Bus Terminal. From there, you can either take a local taxi or rideshare service (like Uber or Lyft) to Absecon Lighthouse. It is approximately a 1.5-mile ride, which should cost around $10-$15 depending on traffic.

  For the adventurous, biking to Absecon Lighthouse is an option. From nearby areas in Atlantic City, there are bike lanes and paths leading to the lighthouse. If you are coming from the Boardwalk area, head west on Atlantic Ave, then south on S Rhode Island Ave. Ensure you follow local biking rules and wear a helmet.
