Getting There

• Walking

  Start at the Lambertville Visitor Center located at 18 Bridge Street. Head east on Bridge Street toward North Main Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with North Main Street, then turn left. Follow North Main Street for about 0.5 miles until you reach the Lambertville-New Hope Bridge. Cross the bridge over the Delaware River, which will take you into New Hope, Pennsylvania. Once you reach New Hope, turn left onto South Main Street and continue walking until you reach the intersection with West Mechanic Street. Turn right onto West Mechanic Street, and then continue straight until you reach the intersection with South River Road. Turn left onto South River Road, and follow it until you see signs for the bus stop for the New Jersey Transit bus that goes to Philadelphia. Take the bus to the nearest stop to Independence National Historical Park in Philadelphia.

  Begin at the Lambertville Visitor Center at 18 Bridge Street. Rent a bicycle from a local rental shop if you don't have one. Ride east on Bridge Street towards North Main Street. Continue straight for about 0.5 miles until you reach the Lambertville-New Hope Bridge. Cross the bridge, which will take you into New Hope, Pennsylvania. Once across, follow South Main Street to West Mechanic Street, then make a right. Ride along West Mechanic Street until you reach South River Road. Turn left on South River Road, and follow it to the bus stop for New Jersey Transit heading to Philadelphia. You can take your bicycle on the bus if needed.

  From any location in Lambertville, head to the nearest bus stop. The most common stops are along North Main Street. Wait for the New Jersey Transit bus that heads to Philadelphia. The bus will take you to the nearest transit station in Philadelphia. Once you arrive, you can walk or take another local transit option to reach Independence National Historical Park, specifically Old City Hall on Chestnut Street.
