Bus
From Paterson, head to the nearest NJ Transit bus stop. You can catch the NJ Transit Bus 161 heading towards New York City. Stay on the bus for about 30-35 minutes, and get off at the Port Authority Bus Terminal. From there, exit the terminal and walk to 8th Avenue, where you can catch the MTA Subway Line E or F. Take the subway to 63rd Street and Lexington Avenue station, and transfer to the Q train towards Coney Island. Get off at the 63rd Street stop and walk east on 65th Street for about 5 minutes to reach the Central Park Carousel at 1802 E 65th St.
Train
Start at the Paterson Train Station and take the NJ Transit train on the North Jersey Coast Line or the Montclair-Boonton Line towards New York Penn Station. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Penn Station, exit the station and walk to the nearby 34th Street-Herald Square Subway Station. Take the Q subway line towards Coney Island and get off at the 63rd Street stop. Finally, walk east on 65th Street for about 5 minutes to arrive at the Central Park Carousel.
Walking and Subway
If you are near the Paterson Museum, exit the museum and walk towards Broadway. Head south on Broadway to the nearest bus stop and take the NJ Transit Bus 751 towards New York City. After about 20-25 minutes, get off at the final stop at the Port Authority Bus Terminal. From there, walk to the 42nd Street subway station and catch the N or Q train towards Astoria-Ditmars Blvd or Coney Island, respectively. Disembark at 63rd Street and walk east along 65th Street for about 5 minutes to reach the Central Park Carousel.
