    From Paterson, head to the nearest bus stop and catch NJ Transit Bus 162 towards New York Port Authority. Sit back and enjoy the ride for about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Port Authority Bus Terminal, follow the signs to the subway and take the 1 train from 42nd Street to South Ferry. At South Ferry, exit the train and walk to the Battery Park ferry terminal. Purchase your ferry ticket to Ellis Island and board the ferry. Enjoy the scenic ride to Ellis Island.

    Make your way to the Paterson train station and catch a NJ Transit train heading towards Hoboken. After about 30 minutes, transfer at Hoboken to the PATH train towards World Trade Center. Buy your ticket for the ferry to Ellis Island and hop on to start your journey.
