Ferry
To get to Ellis Island National Museum of Immigration from Hoboken, head to the Hoboken Terminal. If you're near Washington Street, walk towards the waterfront and continue until you reach the terminal at 1 Hudson Place. Once at the terminal, look for the PATH train to Journal Square. However, you will want to take the ferry instead. Exit the terminal and walk towards the ferry terminal located next to the PATH station. Purchase a ticket for the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island ferry. The ferry will take you directly to Ellis Island, where the museum is located. Enjoy the scenic views of the Manhattan skyline during the ride.

PATH Train + Ferry
Start at your current location in Hoboken and make your way to the Hoboken PATH station. If you're near Washington Street, walk towards the Hoboken Terminal at 1 Hudson Place. Board the PATH train heading to World Trade Center. Once you arrive at the World Trade Center station, exit and follow the signs to the Battery Park ferry terminal. Once at the terminal, purchase a ticket for the ferry to Ellis Island. The ferry will take you directly to the museum. This option is longer but allows you to experience the PATH train.
