From your location in Paterson, walk to the nearest NJ Transit bus stop. You can catch the NJ Transit bus #190 towards New York Port Authority. Stay on the bus for about 30-40 minutes (depending on traffic) until you reach the bus stop at Fort Greene Park. Once you get off, walk east along Dekalb Avenue for a few minutes until you reach the intersection with S Portland Avenue where the park is located.

Head to the Paterson Train Station and take the NJ Transit train on the North Jersey Coast Line. Transfer at Secaucus Junction to a train heading towards New York Penn Station. Once you arrive at Penn Station, exit and take the LIRR (Long Island Rail Road) to Atlantic Terminal. From Atlantic Terminal, take the B25 bus towards Fort Greene. Get off at the stop at Dekalb Avenue & S Portland Avenue, and you will find Fort Greene Park right at that intersection.
