    Walking

    From Paterson, make your way to the Paterson Bus Terminal located at 1 Market St. Once at the terminal, take the NJ Transit Bus 190 towards New York Port Authority Bus Terminal. This bus will take you directly to New York City. Once you arrive at the Port Authority Bus Terminal, exit the terminal and walk to 42nd St/8th Ave subway station. Take the A subway line towards Inwood-207th St. Get off at 135th St station. From there, walk west on 135th St for about 3 blocks until you reach 180 W 135th St, the Harlem YMCA.

    Public Transport

    Start at the Paterson Train Station located at 100 Broadway. Take a NJ Transit train on the Main Line heading towards Hoboken. Transfer at Secaucus Junction to an NJ Transit train on the North Jersey Coast Line towards Penn Station in New York. Once you arrive at Penn Station, follow signs for the A subway line. Take the A train towards Inwood-207th St and get off at 135th St. Exit the station and walk west on 135th St for about 3 blocks until you reach the Harlem YMCA at 180 W 135th St.

    If you prefer biking, rent a bike from a local bike rental shop in Paterson. Head southwest on Market St towards the Passaic River. Once at the river, follow the river south until you reach the Great Falls National Historical Park. Take the path along the river and follow the bike trails leading towards the George Washington Bridge. Cross the bridge and enter Manhattan. Continue riding west on 135th St until you reach the Harlem YMCA at 180 W 135th St.
