Getting There

  • Bus

    From Paterson, head to the nearest NJ Transit bus stop. Take the #72 bus towards New York City. Stay on the bus for approximately 30-40 minutes until you reach the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan. Once at the terminal, exit and walk to 42nd Street. Transfer to the #2 subway train (red line) at Times Square-42nd Street station, heading uptown towards the Bronx. Get off the train at 135th Street station. From there, walk west on 135th Street for about 5 blocks, then turn left onto 7th Avenue and walk south for 2 blocks until you reach W 137th St. The Mother AME Zion Church will be on your left at 140 W 137th St.

    Start at the Paterson Train Station and board the NJ Transit train on the Main Line towards Hoboken. After about 30 minutes, transfer at Secaucus Junction to a train headed toward New York Penn Station. Once you arrive at Penn Station, exit and head to the 34th Street subway station. Board the #1 subway train (red line) heading uptown towards the Bronx. Get off the train at 137th Street-City College station. From there, walk west on 137th Street for a block until you reach 7th Avenue, then turn right and head north for 2 blocks to find the Mother AME Zion Church at 140 W 137th St.
