To reach the New York Public Library - Stephen A. Schwarzman Building from Paterson, start by heading to the Paterson Bus Terminal located at 100 Broadway. Look for NJ Transit buses that go to New York City, particularly the #165 or #171 routes. Purchase a ticket to Port Authority Bus Terminal. The bus ride will take approximately 30-45 minutes depending on traffic. Once you arrive at Port Authority, exit the terminal and walk to 42nd Street. From there, head east toward 5th Avenue. The library is located at 476 5th Ave, just a few blocks away.

From Paterson, you can take the NJ Transit train from the Paterson Station. Board a train heading toward Hoboken or New York Penn Station. Make sure to check the schedule as trains run at regular intervals. The ride will take about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at New York Penn Station, exit the station and head north on 7th Avenue until you reach 42nd Street. Turn left on 42nd Street and walk toward 5th Avenue. The library will be on your right at 476 5th Ave.
