From Paterson, head to the nearest NJ Transit bus stop. You can catch the 76 or 80 bus heading towards New York City. Make sure to check the bus schedule for the next departure. Once on the bus, stay on until you reach the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Manhattan. From there, transfer to the M86-SBS bus towards the Upper East Side and get off at the stop on 86th St and 2nd Ave. Walk east on 86th St for about 5 minutes until you reach 435 E 85th St.

Head to the Paterson Train Station and take a NJ Transit train on the Main Line towards Hoboken. Get off at Secaucus Junction and transfer to a train heading towards New York Penn Station. Once at Penn Station, follow the signs to the subway and take the 1, 2, or 3 train heading uptown. Get off at the 86th St station and walk east for about 10 minutes on 86th St to reach 435 E 85th St.
