Public Bus
To get to Shakespeare Steps in the Bronx from Paterson, you can take NJ Transit Bus 751 towards New York. Board the bus at the Paterson Bus Terminal located at 126 Broadway. Stay on the bus for about 30 minutes until you reach the Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York City. From there, transfer to the MTA Subway. Take the A train from the Port Authority and ride it towards Inwood-207th St. Get off at the 175th Street Station. Exit the station and walk east on 175th Street until you reach Shakespeare Avenue. Turn left on Shakespeare Avenue and follow it to 1161 Shakespeare Ave. The Shakespeare Steps will be on your left.
Train
Start at the Paterson Train Station on Broadway. Take a NJ Transit train on the Main Line towards Hoboken. Get off at Secaucus Junction. From Secaucus, transfer to a train heading towards New York Penn Station. Upon arrival at Penn Station, exit and follow signs to the A subway line. Take the A train towards Inwood-207th St. Get off at the 175th Street Station. Exit the station, walk east on 175th Street until you reach Shakespeare Avenue. Turn left on Shakespeare Avenue and walk to 1161 Shakespeare Ave.
Walking
If you're feeling adventurous and want to walk part of the way, you can start from downtown Paterson. Head south on Main Street until you reach Broadway. Continue south until you reach the Paterson Train Station. From there, take either the bus or train options as described above. Alternatively, if you're near the Great Falls, you can walk towards the bus terminal or train station to catch public transport.
