If you're driving to Boxwood Hall State Historic Site from anywhere in Raritan Valley, you will want to start by getting onto Route 287 South. Follow signs for 287 South towards Newark. After about 15 miles, take exit 13 for Route 1-9 South towards Elizabeth. Continue on Route 1-9 South for approximately 4 miles. Look for E Jersey St and turn left. Boxwood Hall will be on your right at 1073 E Jersey St, Elizabeth, NJ 07201. There is street parking available, but be mindful of parking regulations in the area.

To reach Boxwood Hall State Historic Site using public transportation, you can take a NJ Transit train from any station in Raritan Valley heading towards Newark. Get off at the Elizabeth Station. From the station, you can take the NJ Transit Bus #40 or #62 towards Elizabeth. Disembark at the stop on E Jersey St. The historic site is a short walk from the bus stop (approximately 0.3 miles). Head east on E Jersey St for about 5 minutes until you reach 1073 E Jersey St, Elizabeth, NJ 07201. Make sure to check the NJ Transit website for the latest schedules and fares.
