Getting There

• Bus

  Start at the Albuquerque Alvarado Transportation Center located at 100 1st St SW, Albuquerque, NM 87102. Take the ABQ RIDE Bus Route 2 (towards 'Tramway & Academy'). Ride the bus for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the stop at 'Tramway Blvd & Indian School Rd'. From the bus stop, walk north on Tramway Blvd for about 1.5 miles. You'll arrive at the entrance of Elena Gallegos Open Space located at 7100 Tramway Blvd NE.

• Bicycle

  If you're renting a bicycle, start from downtown Albuquerque. Head east on Central Ave to reach the Albuquerque Bosque Trail. Follow the trail north alongside the Rio Grande. At the intersection with Tramway Blvd, turn right and continue north for approximately 5 miles. The Elena Gallegos Open Space will be on your left at 7100 Tramway Blvd NE.

  If you're staying near the Sandia Mountains, for instance, at the Sandia Peak Ski Area, you can walk towards the entrance of Elena Gallegos Open Space. It’s about a 2-mile walk down the trails leading south from the ski area. Once you reach Tramway Blvd, head south for approximately half a mile until you see the entrance at 7100 Tramway Blvd NE.
