    Starting from the center of Bernalillo, head south on NM-528 (Bernalillo Main Street) towards Albuquerque. After about 2 miles, you will reach the intersection with Candelaria Rd NW. Turn left onto Candelaria Rd NW and continue walking for about 1 mile. The Rio Grande Nature Center State Park will be on your right at 2901 Candelaria Rd NW.

    From Bernalillo, you can take the bike path along the Rio Grande. Start by heading south on NM-528 (Bernalillo Main Street) until you reach the bike path entrance. Cycle along the path that runs parallel to the river for about 3 miles. When you reach Candelaria Rd NW, exit the bike path, turn left onto Candelaria Rd NW, and continue for another mile. The park will be on your right.

  • Public Transport

    You can take the ABQ Ride Bus #5 from Bernalillo to Albuquerque. Board the bus at the nearest stop along NM-528 (Bernalillo Main Street). Ride the bus for about 15 minutes and get off at the Candelaria Rd NW stop. From there, walk west on Candelaria Rd NW for about 1 mile, and you will find the Rio Grande Nature Center State Park on your right at 2901 Candelaria Rd NW.
