Walking
Start at the Carlsbad Public Library located at 101 S Halagueno St, Carlsbad, NM 88220. Head south on Halagueno St towards W Fox St. Continue walking straight for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with W Mermod St. Turn left onto W Mermod St and walk for another 0.3 miles. You will see a bus stop on your right side near the intersection with S Canal St.

Public Transportation
At the bus stop near S Canal St, take the local bus route that heads towards the Carlsbad Airport. Ask the driver if they stop near Bataan Recreation Area. If they do not, you may need to get off at the Airport and continue walking. The Bataan Recreation Area is about a mile from the airport – head northeast on Airport Rd, and then turn left onto National Parks Hwy (US-62). Continue walking until you reach the entrance of Bataan Recreation Area.

Start at 101 S Halagueno St, and head south on Halagueno St. Turn left onto W Mermod St and continue to the intersection with S Canal St. From there, take Airport Rd northeast.
