If you are starting your journey from Taos, NM, head northwest on NM-68 N for about 18 miles. Keep an eye out for signs for Carson National Forest. Once you reach the junction with NM-522 N, turn right and continue for about 6 miles until you reach the entrance of Carson National Forest. Once inside the forest, follow the signs for Canjilon RD. After about 12 miles, look for Canjilon RD, which will be on your right.
