Turn left onto NM-61 South and drive for approximately 12 miles. Then, turn right onto Lake Valley School Rd. The Lake Valley Historic Townsite will be on your left after about 2 miles. Make sure to check your gas tank, as services are limited in this area.

    If you are coming from Silver City, NM, take NM-90 North for about 25 miles. Turn right onto NM-152 East and continue for approximately 23 miles. At the junction with NM-61, turn right and head south for about 12 miles. Finally, turn right onto Lake Valley School Rd, and the historic townsite will be about 2 miles down the road on your left. Keep an eye out for wildlife as you drive.
