If you are traveling by car from Albuquerque, NM, take I-25 South for approximately 90 miles. Exit at NM-152 West and continue for about 32 miles until you reach the junction with NM-61. Turn left onto NM-61 South and drive for approximately 12 miles. Then, turn right onto Lake Valley School Rd. The Lake Valley Historic Townsite will be on your left after about 2 miles. Make sure to check your gas tank, as services are limited in this area.

If you are coming from Silver City, NM, take NM-90 North for about 25 miles. Turn right onto NM-152 East and continue for approximately 23 miles. At the junction with NM-61, turn right and head south for about 12 miles. Finally, turn right onto Lake Valley School Rd, and the historic townsite will be about 2 miles down the road on your left. Keep an eye out for wildlife as you drive.

Public Transportation
Public transportation to Lake Valley Historic Townsite is limited. However, you can take a Greyhound bus to either Silver City or Albuquerque. From Silver City, you would need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to reach Lake Valley, as it is approximately 50 miles away. If coming from Albuquerque, the same applies; you would need to arrange for a vehicle to cover the remaining distance. Be sure to check Greyhound schedules and book your ride ahead of time.
