Getting There

  • Car

    From the Jemez Mountains, take NM-4 E towards Los Alamos. Continue on NM-4 for approximately 27 miles until you reach the junction with NM-502. Take NM-502 E towards Los Alamos. After about 8 miles, follow the signs to Los Alamos. Once in town, turn right onto Canyon Rd. The Los Alamos Nature Center will be on your left at 2600 Canyon Rd. There is parking available on-site.

    If you are using public transportation, start by taking the New Mexico Park and Ride bus service from various locations in the Jemez Mountains to Los Alamos. Check the schedule for the nearest stop and the timing of the service. Once you arrive at the Los Alamos bus terminal, you can either walk (approximately 1.5 miles) or use a local taxi service to reach the Nature Center at 2600 Canyon Rd. Walking directions: Head east on Central Ave, then turn left onto Canyon Rd. The Nature Center will be on your left.
