If you are traveling by car, start by heading to Santa Fe from your location in North Central New Mexico. Depending on where you are, you may take US-84 or I-25 South. Follow the signs for Santa Fe. Once you reach the city, take the St. Francis Drive exit towards NM-599. Continue on St. Francis Drive until you reach W. San Francisco Street. Turn left onto W. San Francisco Street, then right onto S. Capitol Street. The New Mexico State Capitol will be on your left at 411 S Capitol St, Santa Fe, NM 87501. There is limited metered parking available on the street and in nearby lots, which may incur a cost.

For those using public transportation, you can take the NM Rail Runner Express if you are coming from Albuquerque or other locations along the line. Get off at the Santa Fe Depot. From the depot, you can catch the Santa Fe Trails bus #2 (the 'Canyon Road') which will take you directly to the downtown area. Disembark at the stop near the intersection of S. Capitol St. and W. San Francisco St. Walk south on S. Capitol St for about two blocks to reach the New Mexico State Capitol at 411 S Capitol St, Santa Fe, NM 87501.
