If you're traveling by car, start from Albuquerque, NM. Take I-25 North towards Santa Fe. After about 15 miles, take exit 242 for NM-165 towards Placitas. Follow NM-165 for approximately 20 miles, and you will arrive at Sandia Cave, located near Placitas, NM 87043. There is no fee to access the cave itself, but ensure your vehicle has enough gas for the trip.

Public transportation options are limited in Northwest New Mexico. However, you can take the NM Rail Runner Express from Albuquerque to the Bernalillo Station. From Bernalillo, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to take you the remaining 12 miles to Sandia Cave. Expect to pay for the taxi or rideshare service, which may vary based on distance and demand.
