Getting There

  • Bicycle

    Start at the Roswell Convention Center located at 912 N Main St, Roswell, NM 88201. Head east on E 9th St toward N Main St for about 0.3 miles until you reach the intersection with N Virginia Ave. Turn left onto N Virginia Ave and continue for about 1 mile. You will then turn right onto E Pine Lodge Rd. Follow E Pine Lodge Rd for approximately 2 miles until you reach the Bitter Lake National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center at 4200 E Pine Lodge Rd. The refuge will be on your left.

  • Walking

    If you're starting from the Roswell Downtown Historic District, head east on E 2nd St toward N Main St. After about 0.5 miles, turn left onto N Virginia Ave and continue for about 1.5 miles. Turn right onto E Pine Lodge Rd and proceed for approximately 1 mile. The Bitter Lake National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center will be on your left at 4200 E Pine Lodge Rd.

    While there is no direct public transportation to Bitter Lake National Wildlife Refuge, you can take the Roswell Transit System bus from the downtown area to the nearest stop at E 2nd St and N Virginia Ave. From there, it is a 3-mile walk east on E 2nd St, then left on N Virginia Ave, and finally right onto E Pine Lodge Rd.
