    From Santa Fe National Forest, take NM-475 South (also known as the 'High Road to Taos') and follow it until you reach the junction with US-84. Merge onto US-84 South and continue for about 20 miles. Take the exit toward I-25 S/Albuquerque and merge onto I-25 S. Continue on I-25 for approximately 60 miles. Take exit 226 toward Candelaria Rd NW and turn left onto Candelaria Rd NW. The Rio Grande Nature Center State Park will be on your right at 2901 Candelaria Rd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87107.

    If you are using public transportation, start by taking the New Mexico Rail Runner Express from the Santa Fe Depot to the Albuquerque Station. From the Albuquerque Station, transfer to the ABQ Ride bus service. Take the number 66 bus toward Candelaria and get off at the Candelaria Rd NW stop. From there, it is a short walk to the Rio Grande Nature Center State Park located at 2901 Candelaria Rd NW, Albuquerque, NM 87107. Please check the Rail Runner and ABQ Ride schedules for the latest timings and fares. A one-way ticket on the Rail Runner is approximately $9, and the bus fare is around $1.
