Walking
If you are in the center of Truth or Consequences, head east on Main Street toward Broadway Street. Continue walking for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with NM-181. Turn right onto NM-181 and follow it for approximately 1 mile. You will see signs for the Elephant Butte Dam View on your left. Follow the signs to the viewing area, which is just a short walk from the road.

Start from the Truth or Consequences Plaza. Head east on Main Street and continue straight for about 0.5 miles. At the intersection with NM-181, make a right turn. Follow NM-181 for about 1 mile. Look out for the signs for Elephant Butte Dam View on your left. There is a bike-friendly path leading to the viewing area, making it an easy ride.
