Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in downtown Albany, start at the Albany Public Library located at 161 Washington Ave. Walk west on Washington Ave towards the intersection with State St. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with State St. The New York State Capitol will be directly in front of you at the corner of State St. and Washington Ave. Look for the large building with intricate architecture.

  • Public Transit (Bus)

    From the Albany-Rensselaer Train Station, exit the station and walk to the nearest bus stop. Take the CDTA bus #1 (Albany - Rensselaer) heading towards Albany. Get off at the stop at the intersection of State St. and Washington Ave. The New York State Capitol will be right in front of you.
