    If you are in downtown Albany, head east on State Street towards the New York State Capitol building. Continue walking for about 10-15 minutes until you reach the intersection with Washington Avenue. Turn left onto Washington Avenue and walk for approximately 5 minutes. You will see the New York State Museum located at 222 Madison Ave on your right.

    From the Albany Bus Terminal located at 34 Hamilton Street, take the CDTA bus route 12 towards 'Loudonville'. Board the bus and ride for about 15 minutes. Get off at the 'Washington Ave & Eagle St' stop. Walk south on Eagle Street for one block to the intersection with Madison Avenue. Turn left onto Madison Avenue and the New York State Museum will be on your right.

    If you have access to a bicycle, start at the Albany Riverfront Park and head north on the bike path along the Hudson River. After about 10 minutes, turn right onto Broadway.
