From the Canalside area, head towards the waterfront. Walk along the pathway that runs parallel to the water. Keep the water on your left and continue straight for about 0.3 miles. You will pass the Explore & More Children's Museum on your right. After you reach the end of the pathway, you will arrive at the Buffalo Ship Canal, located directly ahead. Make sure to enjoy the scenic views along the way.
Biking
If you prefer to bike, you can rent a bike from one of the nearby bike-sharing stations around Canalside. Once you have a bike, head southwest along the bike path that runs along the waterfront. Continue for about 0.3 miles. You will see the Buffalo Ship Canal ahead as you approach the end of the pathway. The bike ride should take around 5-10 minutes and is a great way to enjoy the fresh air.
Public Transport (Bus)
If you wish to take public transport, locate the nearest bus stop in Canalside. You can take the NFTA Metro Bus Route 5. Board the bus and ride for just a few stops, getting off at the stop closest to the Buffalo Ship Canal. Check the NFTA website or app for the latest schedules. The bus fare is $2.00 per ride, and you can pay with cash or a Metro Card.
