    If you are traveling by car from anywhere in Fire Island, you will first need to take the ferry back to the mainland. The ferry departs from locations like Cherry Grove or Ocean Beach. Once on the mainland, head south on Route 27 (Sunrise Highway) towards Great River. Take exit 47 for NY-111 N towards Hauppauge. Merge onto NY-111 N, then turn left onto Montauk Highway (NY-27A). Continue on Montauk Highway for approximately 2 miles, and you will see Bayard Cutting Arboretum on your right at 440 Montauk Hwy, Great River, NY 11739. Parking is available on-site.
