Getting There

  • Walking

    Start at the Hudson Amtrak Station located at 5 South 2nd Street. Exit the station and head southeast on South 2nd Street toward Warren Street. Turn left onto Warren Street and continue walking until you reach the intersection with Route 9G. Turn right onto Route 9G and continue walking north. After about 2.5 miles, you will reach the intersection with NY-23. Cross over to the other side of the road, and continue onto NY-23 East. The Five State Lookout will be approximately 6 miles ahead on your right side. Look for the signs indicating the lookout.

  • Public Transportation

    From Hudson, take the Columbia County public transit bus (Route 9G) from the Hudson Amtrak Station. You will need to board the bus that goes to Catskill. Ask the driver to let you know when to get off at the intersection with NY-23. Once you reach that stop, continue east on NY-23 on foot for approximately 6 miles. The Five State Lookout will be on your right. Be sure to check the bus schedule in advance to plan your trip accordingly.

  • Biking

    If you have access to a bike, start at the Hudson Riverfront Park. Cycle north along the waterfront path until you reach the intersection with Warren Street. Turn left onto Warren Street and head towards Route 9G. Once you reach Route 9G, turn right and continue north. After about 2.5 miles, turn right onto NY-23 East.
