From Hunter Mountain, start by heading northwest on NY-23 towards Tannersville. After about 8 miles, turn left onto NY-145 S. Continue on NY-145 S for approximately 12 miles until you reach the intersection with NY-30. Turn right onto NY-30 N and follow for about 4 miles. You will see signs for the Franklinton Vlaie Wildlife Management Area. Turn left onto Franklinton Vlaie Road, and continue to the parking area for the management area.

Public Transportation
Take the local bus service from Hunter Mountain to the nearest bus station in Tannersville. From there, transfer to the bus heading towards Middleburgh. After arriving in Middleburgh, you will need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service, as public transportation does not reach the Franklinton Vlaie Wildlife Management Area directly. The taxi ride will take about 15 minutes and can incur costs ranging from $20 to $30 depending on the provider.

For a more adventurous route, consider biking from Hunter Mountain. Begin by following NY-23 W for approximately 8 miles until you reach the intersection with NY-145 S. Turn left onto NY-145 S and continue for about 12 miles. After that, turn right onto NY-30 N and follow for 4 miles. From NY-30, turn left onto Franklinton Vlaie Road, which leads to the wildlife management area. Note that this route is approximately 25 miles, so be prepared for a long ride.
