Take the Trailways bus service from New York City to Hunter Mountain. Once you arrive at the Hunter Mountain bus stop, you can either walk or take a local taxi to the Indian Head Mountain trailhead. The distance is about 1 mile from the bus stop, and you may need to walk along NY-23A, which doesn’t have a dedicated pedestrian path, so be cautious and aware of traffic.
