Getting There

• Walking

  Starting from the center of Montauk, head east on Main Street. Continue until you reach the intersection with South Elmwood Avenue. Turn right onto South Elmwood Avenue and walk until you reach the end of the street, where it meets the coastline. From here, you will see the beach; follow the beach path south towards the ocean. Keep walking along the coastline until you reach the point where the land juts out towards the sea. This area is known as Culloden Point. Note that this walk can take approximately 30-40 minutes depending on your pace, and ensure you wear comfortable shoes.

• Biking

  If you have access to a bike rental in Montauk, start from the town center and head east on Main Street. Continue to South Elmwood Avenue and take a right. Follow the road as it curves and leads directly towards the coastline. From there, you can bike along the beach path that runs southward. This route allows for a scenic ride alongside the ocean, and you will reach Culloden Point in about 15-20 minutes. Make sure to follow any bike path rules and be aware of pedestrians along the way.

• Public Transport (Shuttle)

  Look for local shuttle services that operate in Montauk. You can check with your hotel or local tourist information center for the nearest shuttle stop. Board a shuttle heading towards the beaches. Request to be dropped off at the closest stop to Culloden Point, which is typically near the beach access points. After disembarking, follow the beach path southward until you reach Culloden Point. The shuttle service can vary in schedule, so be sure to check the timetable in advance.
