Getting There

• Subway

  From downtown Yonkers, walk to the Yonkers Metro-North train station. Take the Metro-North Hudson Line train toward Grand Central Terminal. Get off at the Harlem-125th Street station. From there, transfer to the 4 or 5 subway line heading downtown. Get off at the 42nd Street-Grand Central station and transfer to the 7 subway line. Take the 7 train to the Vernon Blvd/Jackson Ave station. Exit the station and walk east on Jackson Avenue until you reach the East River Esplanade.

• Bus

  From any location in Yonkers, find a nearby bus stop serviced by the Bee-Line bus system. Take the Bee-Line Bus #1 or #2 heading toward Mount Vernon or the Bronx. Ask the driver to let you know when you reach the stop for the Metro-North train station. Once you arrive, transfer to the Metro-North train on the Hudson Line toward Grand Central Terminal. Disembark at the Harlem-125th Street station. From there, you can use the subway lines as described above to reach the East River Esplanade.

• Walking

  If you are staying near the Hudson River waterfront in Yonkers, you can walk directly to the East River Esplanade. Head east toward the Hudson River and follow the waterfront path. Continue along the riverfront until you reach the intersection with Jackson Avenue. Cross over to the east side of the river and continue walking along the path until you reach the East River Esplanade.

• Bicycle

  If you have access to a bicycle, you can ride from Yonkers to the East River Esplanade. Start by heading south along the waterfront bike path towards the Bronx. Follow the path until you reach the Bronx River Greenway. Continue on this path until you find a connection to the East River Esplanade. The ride is scenic and will take you through parks and along the river.
