Subway
From downtown Yonkers, walk to the Yonkers Metro-North train station. Take the Metro-North Hudson Line train toward Grand Central Terminal. Get off at the Harlem-125th Street station. From there, transfer to the 4 or 5 subway line heading downtown. Get off at the 42nd Street-Grand Central station and transfer to the 7 subway line. Take the 7 train to the Vernon Blvd/Jackson Ave station. Exit the station and walk east on Jackson Avenue until you reach the East River Esplanade.

From any location in Yonkers, find a nearby bus stop serviced by the Bee-Line bus system. Take the Bee-Line Bus #1 or #2 heading toward Mount Vernon or the Bronx. Ask the driver to let you know when you reach the stop for the Metro-North train station. Once you arrive, transfer to the Metro-North train on the Hudson Line toward Grand Central Terminal. Disembark at the Harlem-125th Street station. From there, you can use the subway lines as described above to reach the East River Esplanade.
