From Yonkers, head to the Yonkers Metro-North Station. Purchase a ticket to Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan. Board the Hudson Line train heading south, which typically runs every 30 minutes. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Grand Central, exit the station and walk towards the 42nd Street exit. From there, take the 4, 5, 6, or 7 subway line to Union Square. At Union Square, transfer to the L train heading towards Canarsie-Rockaway Parkway. Get off at the 1st Avenue stop and walk east to reach the Lower East Side.

Start at the nearest bus stop in Yonkers that serves the Bee-Line Bus system. Take the BxM4C express bus towards Manhattan. The bus will take you directly to the Port Authority Bus Terminal. Once you arrive at the terminal, exit and walk to the 42nd Street subway station. From there, take the 4, 5, 6, or 7 subway lines to Union Square. Finally, transfer to the L train and get off at the 1st Avenue stop to reach the Lower East Side.
