Getting There

• Subway

  From Yonkers, head to the Yonkers Metro-North Railroad Station, which is located at 1 Hudson St, Yonkers, NY 10701. Take the Hudson Line train towards Grand Central Terminal. Get off at the 125th Street station. From there, transfer to the A or C subway lines and take the train towards Downtown Manhattan. Get off at the 42nd Street - Port Authority Bus Terminal station. Then walk east on 42nd Street towards 8th Avenue, and turn left onto 8th Avenue. Continue walking south until you reach Broadway, then turn right.   From Yonkers, find the nearest bus stop for the Bee-Line Bus System. Take the BxM4C express bus towards Manhattan, which will take you directly into the city. Get off at the 42nd Street and 8th Avenue stop. From there, walk east on 42nd Street towards Broadway, and turn left onto Broadway. Continue walking until you reach Strand Book Store at 828 Broadway, New York, NY 10003.

• Walking

  If you are already in downtown Yonkers, you can walk to the Yonkers Metro-North Railroad Station at 1 Hudson St. From there, follow the subway directions above. If you prefer to walk entirely, you will need to walk approximately 5 miles to reach the Strand Book Store. Head southeast on Main Street, then turn left onto South Broadway, continuing until you reach 42nd Street in Manhattan. Turn right onto 42nd Street and walk to Broadway, then turn left.
