Subway
To reach Tompkins Square Park from Yonkers, start by taking the Metro-North Railroad from Yonkers Station to Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan. Once you arrive at Grand Central, follow the signs to the Subway. Take the 6 train (green line) towards Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall. After 7 stops, get off at Astor Place station. Exit the station and walk east on Astor Place until you reach 10th Street. From there, turn left onto E 10th St, and you will find Tompkins Square Park on your right.
Bus
From Yonkers, you can take the Bee-Line Bus #1 or #2 (check the schedule for timings) towards the Bronx. Get off at the last stop, which is the Yonkers Riverfront. Then, transfer to the MTA bus M15 (select either local or express). Ride the M15 for approximately 45 minutes, getting off at E 10th St & 1st Ave. From there, walk west on E 10th St, and Tompkins Square Park will be on your left.
Walking
If you're staying in central Yonkers and feel adventurous, you can walk to the nearest Metro-North station, which is Yonkers Station. From there, follow the subway directions provided above. Alternatively, if you want a scenic route, you could walk along the Hudson River waterfront to the Yonkers train station, enjoy the views, and then proceed with the subway.
Taxi or Rideshare
For a more direct route, consider using a taxi or rideshare service like Uber or Lyft. Simply request a ride from your current location in Yonkers to Tompkins Square Park, E 10th St, New York, NY 10009. The driver will take you directly to the park, making it a convenient option if you want to avoid transfers.
